M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System)
The M142 HIMARS is a light multiple rocket launcher mounted on an M1140 truck chassis which entered service in 2005.
The M142 has a single pod fitted with six 227mm guided multiple launch rockets system rockets. There are a number or rocket variants. The guided MLRS rockets have an extended range of around 70-90km and GPS guidance.
M142 HIMARS have been used in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and more recently in Ukraine.
