The Laffly S-45T was designed as a 6x6 heavy artillery tractor for towing heavy guns such as the 220mm Schneider as well as for recovering heavy tanks.
The S-45TL was a prototype variant developed by Hotchkiss using the S-45T with an elongated chassis as a fuel tanker. The S-45TL never entered production following the fall of France in 1940.
