Hawker Tempest Mk Mk V Post War
The Tempest was a WWII British fighter bomber derived from the earlier Hawker Typhoon. The Tempest was based on the Typhoon with a thinner wing to improve airflow and improve performance at higher altitudes.
After WWII, Tempests continued in service with RAF Squadrons in the Middle East although these began to be phased out in 1949. By the end of its service, Tempests were used as target tug aircraft. Tempests were transferred to both the Indian and Pakistani Air Forces.
