M24 Chaffee (Rheinberg, Germany, March 1945)
The M24 was designed to replace the ageing M5 light tank and entered service in late 1944 being pressed into action during the Battle of The Bulge. The M24 was a fast, mobile light tank but armed with the same standard 75mm M6 gun as the Sherman. Whilst by the end of the war, this was no match for the German Panthers and Tigers, it was an improvement on the 37mm on the M5. The secondary armament was a 0.5cal Browning and two 0.3cal Brownings.
