The BMP-2 is a second generation amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle introduced in the 1980s and based on the BMP-1. The design combines features of an APC with that of a light tank. The BMP-2 is armed with a 30mm automantic cannon 2A42 and a 9M113 Konkurs Anti Tank Guided Missiles as well as a 7.62mm PKTM machine gun. The BMP-2 carried 7 troops instead of the BMP-1s eight.
