Jagdpanzer IV L/70(V) (Sd Kfz 162/1)

Known as Guderian's Duck, The Sd Kfz 162 was a conversion of a Panzer IV chassis fitted with 7.5cm Pak39 L/48 gun mounted in a saukopf cast mantlet. Later variants fitted the 7.5cm Pak42 L/70 gun and designated Sd Kfz 162/1 or Panzer IV/70(V). However, the weight of the L/70 gun was such that the standard rubber tyre front wheels were replaced by steel rimmed wheels to reduce wear. Around 930 of the Jagdpanzer IV L/70(V) were produced between August 1944 and April 1945.
