BT-7 Light Tank with 132mm Rockets

The BT tanks were lightly armoured but produced in large numbers to provide support for the infantry - over 5,000 BT-7 were produced. In 1936 a project was developed to arm the BT-7 with dual 132mm rockets mounted in either side of the BT-7 conical turret. The direction of fire was controlled by rotation of the turret and the rocket mounts were fitted with elevating gear and an electric trigger. The BT-7 carried six 132mm rockets which had to be re-loaded by the crew manually between firing.
