BT-7A Light Tank with 76.2mm L-11 Gun

The BT tanks were lightly armoured but produced in large numbers to provide support for the infantry - over 5,000 BT-7 were produced. The Christie suspension chassis was imported from the USA in 1931 and this design was to continue through all BT variants. The BT-7A (Artillery) was fitted with a 76.2mm KT-28 gun. A total of 155 BT-7A were produced and supplied to artillery battalions to provide support to tank units. The BT-7A with 76.2mm L-11 gun was a prototype upgunning of the standard BT-7.
