The German Pak36(r) was better known as the Russian Zis-3 76mm Divisional Gun M1942 and was a Soviet 76.2mm field gun. It is considered by many to be one of the finest artillery pieces of WWII. As the Germans advanced across Russia, a number of captured Zis-3 were pressed into German service. These were designated Pak36(r) and served not only on the Eastern Front but also in North Africa and on the Coastal defences on the Western Front.
