M60A1 Main Battle Tank

The M60 entered service in December 1960 as the US Army's main battle tank during the Cold War. The M60A1 was produced from October 1962 with a modified turret and increase armour. In addition, the engine was upgraded. The M60A1 was armed with a 105mm M68 gun and a 0.50cal commanders cupola machine gun with a crew of 4. Production of the M60A1 ended in 1980. During that time they served in a number of conflicts mainly in the Middle East where they remain in service with a number of armies.
