ZIS-5 Soviet Truck

The ZIS-5 was the double axle version of the triple axle Soviet ZIS-6 truck. Production started in 1933 and along with the GAZ-AA was the workhorse truck for the Soviet Red Army in WWII with over 100,000 available in 1941. The ZIS-5 was popular and reliable. Aside from cargo carrying, the ZIS-5 was also used as a light artillery tractor, a personnel carrier with a 25 troop capacity as well as other specialist trucks such as fuel trucks, field workshops, ambulances and as a platform for guns.
