Opel Blitz (Daimler Built L701 Einheitsfahrerhaus) 3t Truck

By 1943 consideration was given to reducing the cost of manufacturing and simplifying the design of equipment partly as a result of continuous Allied bombing causing problems with production. Initially for the Opel Blitz the rear of the cab was produced in wood instead of metal but when production was transferred under license to Daimler Benz they utilised their unified wooden cabin design (Einheitsfahrerhaus). Initially 3,000 L701 were planned in 1944 but production fell short due to bombing.
