Churchill Mk IV NA 75

With the introduction of American M3 and M4 tanks, the British had a tank gun that could fulfil the dual purpose of firing Armoured Piercing shot and High Explosive. British workshops, on their own initiative, fitted out 120 Churchill Mk IV with the M3 75mm gun replacing the old 6 pounder as well as the gun mantlets salvaged from wrecked Shermans. The Churchill Mk IV NA 75 served in Sicily and Italy with great success and were still in service in 1945.
