The StuG self propelled assault guns were amongst the most numerous and best known of AFV produced by the Germans in WWII and possibly the most successful anti tank weapon of WWII. The StuG 40 Ausf G was based on the Pz Kpfw III Ausf M chassis armed with a KwK 40 L/48. In addition, they had a MG42 operated from inside mounted on the roof of the combat compartment.
