T-34 Recovery Tractor & SU-76 Self Propelled Gun

Designed to recover damaged vehicles from the battlefield, the T-34 recovery tank was a converted T-34 with the turret removed and replaced with flatbed and winch. SU-76 design started in November 1942. The T-70 was chosen for mounting 76.2mm ZiS-3 gun. However it was too short for good gun mounting and it was lengthened and one extra road wheel per side added. These vehicles were completely enclosed with the gun mounted in a citadel instead of a turret.
