Type 97 Te-Ke Tankette

The Te-Ke was designed as a fast tankette to be used in a reconnaissance role during WWII. Developed from the earlier Type 94 Te-Ke, 557 Te-Ke were prodcued between 1938 and 1942. Design changes included moving the engine further back and bringing the turret into the middle of the vehicle bringing the commander and driver closer which aided comminucation. The Type 97 Te-Ke was armed with the Type 94 37mm tank gun with 96 rounds - the same weapon used in the Type 95 Ha-Go Light Tank.
