ZIS-5V Cargo Truck

The ZIS-5 was the double axle version of the triple axle Soviet ZIS-6 truck. Production started in 1933 and along with the GAZ-AA was the workhorse truck for the Soviet Red Army in WWII with over 100,000 available in 1941. The ZIS-5V had flat bended wings rather than rounded stamped ones. Cabs and footboards were constructed from wood, brakes were removed from the front wheels as were bumpers. This simplified ZIS-5V was produced from May 1942.
