Messerschmitt ME Bf-110 C-2/C-4

Introduced in 1937, the Messerschmitt Bf-110 served in many of the early campaigns of WWII including the Polish, Norwegian and French campaigns. However it was during the Battle of Britain in 1940 that its weaknesses were revealed. A lack of agility in the air resulted in heavy losses and some Bf-110 units were withdrawn. It was later used in a night fighter role to which it was better suited. It also served in the Balkan and North Africa as well as on the Eastern Front as fighter bomber.
