Two Axle Pilot Car (Long, 9.2m)

This two axle flatbed wagon was 9.2m long and used before WWII to carry up to 20 ton loads. During WWII, these wagons were used to protect Russian armoured trains. By placing them in front and at the rear of trains they were used as pilot cars to reveal mines without the main train suffering damage. Sometimes several would be used in this role heavily loaded with sandbags to give them sufficient weight. These wagons were also used as a chassis for light armoured cars or anti aircraft defenses.
