Citroen Traction Avant 11CV

The Citroen Traction Avant was developed in late 1933/early 1934 and was one of the most successful front wheel drive cars of the 1930s. ("Traction Avant" being French for front wheel drive.) The car had an arc-welded monocoque (single body) unlike other cars of the era which were based on a separate chassis onto which the coachwork was added. This resulted in a lighter vehicle. The 11CV was manufactured between 1934 and 1957.
