Pz Kpfw I Ausf A (Early)

The Pz Kpfw I was the first of the German panzers and waqs intended as a small tank for training purposes. In the event it was also extensively used in combat in the early part of WWII in the Polish, French, Norwegian, Balkan and African campaigns, being mainly employed in a reconnaissance role. The Ausf A experienced a number of problems. It was under armoured with armour of only 13mm. It also had problems with its suspension and the engine was prone to overheating.
