25mm Hotchkiss CA39 Anti Aircraft Gun

The Hotchkiss 25mm CA39 Anti Aircraft gun (Mitrailleuse de 25 mm CA mle 39) served during WWII with French and Japanese forces. By the German invasion in 1940 only a few hundred were in service. A general lack of suitable anti aircraft guns greatly hampered the French that summer. The Japanese had bought a license to manufacture the gun which became known as the Type96 and was fitted to most Japanese warships in WWII.
