T-80 Main Battle Tank (1970-1990)

Introduced in 1976 in parallel to the T-72 as an alternative to the expensive and complex T-64, the T-80 has a crew of 3 and was the first tank to have a gas turbine engine. The main armament was a stabilised 125mm 2A46-2 smoothbore gun fitted with a light alloy thermal sleeve served by an automatic carousel holding 28 rounds. The T-80 also featured improve composite armour and latterly reactive armour. Includes decals and photo-etched parts.
