The 251/4 was armed with a single MG34 or MG42 mounted on the front. The Sd Kfz 251/4 was used as an ammunition carrier and tractor for the 75mm leIG.18 infantry support gun. It carried 120 rounds and a crew of 7. Later it was also used to tow 50mm Pak38, 75mm Pak40 and 105mm LeFH18 Artillery. By 1942, the Sd Kfz 251/4 was replaced by the self propelled Sd Kfz 251/9 mounting the 7.5cm L.24 KwK37.
