T-45 Prototype Light Tank

The T-45 was a prototype light tank produced in 1942 as a stop gap measure until the T-70 could enter production. It was based on the T-60 with a new gun, engine and turret. The T-45 was fitted with a ZIS-5 engine, a 45mm 20-K Model 1938 main gun and a coaxial DT machine gun with frontal armour increased to 25mm from 15mm. The turret had 35mm armour. Initial trials were held in May 1942 however, due to a lack of parts, the T-45 never entered service.
