Canon de 155mm GPF

The Canon de 155mm GPF (Grande Puissance Filoux) was designed during WWI by Colonel LJF Filloux and became the standard heavy gun of the French Army from 1917 until WWII. France had 450 in service in 1940. Many of them were pressed into service in a coastal defence role during the rest of WWII where they were designated K418(f) and K419(f). Perhaps the most famous being the gun battery at Pointe du Hoc in Normandy close to Omaha beach.
