L6/40 Light Tankette

The L6/40 was an Italian Light Tank used during WWII. The designation indicated L for Light Tank, 6 for the weight in tons and 40 as the year it entered service. The Fiat L6/40 was armed with a 20mm Breda modello35 gun and an 8mm Breda modello38 coaxial machine gun. The tank carried a crew of two - a commander/gunner and a driver. L6/40 were used by the Italians during the Balkans campaign and also in the war against the Soviet Union as well as during North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
