Carro Armato M11/39

The M11/39 was produced by Fiat-Ansalso prior to WWII and entered service in 1939. The M denotes medium, 11 the tanks weight in tons and 39 the year it entered service. It's design was influenced by the British Vickers 6-ton tank although its service was cut short due to a number of weaknesses. The most significant was the mounting of the main 37mm gun on the hull allowing only a 15 degree traverse. The dual 8mm machine guns were operated by a single man in the cramped turret.
