The M3A1 Half Track was used extensively by the allies on all fronts with some being supplied to the Russians under lend lease agreements. The M3 was used as the basis for various other designs such as the M4A1 Mortar Carrier, the M-16 Anti Aircraft and as a base for Tank Destroyer units armed with a 75mm gun. This kit, however, represents the basic M3A1 used primarily for for troop transportation. Over 50,000 M3 were produced during WWII.
