T-34/76 Model 1942 with Cast Turret

Introduced in 1940, the T-34/76 was an excellent tank which took the Germans completely by surprise. With it's effective 76mm gun, it's sloping armour and wide tracks the T-34 was well suited to fighting in the terrible conditions of the Russian winter. Indeed the Germans went as far as to copy the design when they built the infamous Panther. The Model 1942, sometimes known as the T-34/76C, was armed with the 76.2mm F-34 gun and 2 x 7.62mm DT machine guns and had frontal armour of 45mm.
