The M4A4 was another variant of the Sherman produced between July 1943 and September 1943. Armed with the 75mm M3 gun and fitted with the A57 Chrysler engine, the welded hull was extended slightly. The M4A4 formed the basis of the British Firefly and was sometimes known as the Sherman V.
