Hotchkiss H39

The Hotchkiss H35 was developed by the French in 1933 and entered service in 1936. The H35 had a crew of two, commander and driver. It was originally armed with the 37mm SA18 gun with 100 rounds and a 7.5mm Reibel machine gun. In Early 1940, some Hotchkiss were modified by fitting the longer 37mm SA38 gun. It is sometimes thought that earlier H35 modified with new engines which then had the new gun fitted were known as Hotchkiss H39.
