6" Howitzer

The Ordinance BL 6" 26cwt Howitzer was a British Howitzer used during both WWI and WWII. Design began in 1915 with test firing taking place on 30 July 1915 and it entered service in late 1915. They fired 22.4 million rounds on the Western Front. By WWII the spoked wheels had been replaced by steel wheels with pneumatic tyres. They were used mainly early on in WWII, including the North African campaign, before being replaced by the BL 5.5" Medium Gun. This metal kit depicts a WWII version.
